Crystal’s artistic journey is deeply connected with Auroville, where she found a space to explore her creative calling and inner search. Working primarily with pyrography, the art of drawing with heat on wood, Crystal combines burning, pigments and mixed media to create luminous and contemplative works. The medium also carries a personal connection to her childhood memories of her father’s lumber yard. Creating is a meditative process for her; a way of entering a state of flow and seeking balance, light and a higher state of consciousness. Her works combine intricate lines with saturated colours and subtle nuances, creating an atmosphere of serenity and inner radiance. While wood remains central to her practice, she also explores ink, watercolour, pencil, gouache and gold, as well as hand-shaped paper. For Crystal, art is a means of expressing and sharing inner light. Her works invite the viewer towards stillness, joy and a deeper connection with the light within.
