A Collective Artistic Tribute to the Mother's Birthday and the Sunlit Path

The Art for Land exhibition draws inspiration from Sri Aurobindo’s poem 'The Golden Light', which speaks of light as a transformative force, one that illumines the mind, heart, speech, and life itself. This light is not just brightness, but the light of Divine Truth, awakening a deeper way of seeing and being.

Sri Aurobindo describes the golden light as the supramental light of truth and realization. This golden light, echoed in the lived experiences of The Mother, represents a peaceful yet powerful presence that descends through the being, transforming each layer it touches.

Featuring works in watercolor, collage, mandala, upcycled art, and mixed media, the exhibition brings together artists whose creations reflect this inner journey through diverse forms and materialsa movement from silence and awareness into colour, form, and texture.

Opening during the month of the Mother’s birthday and Auroville’s founding, The Golden Light is both a tribute and an invitation: to turn inward, to listen more deeply, and to walk the sunlit path where inner truth guides outer expression. In this spirit, the exhibition also reflects Auroville’s collective aspiration- a city founded on consciousness, where every offering carries the radiance of inner light.

On view from 15 February to 30 March 2026 at Unity Pavilion, the exhibition will be accompanied by a series of events held throughout its duration, with offerings such as a Generosity Fair and an Artists’ High Tea. We warmly welcome you for the opening at Unity Pavilion, International Zone on 15 February SUNDAY at 4.00 PM, with light music and the relaunch of the Art for Land website.
