Make A Donation

You can contribute to the flowering of Auroville, the City of Dawn, by making a donation directly to the Acres for Auroville Land Campaign to support Auroville’s land consolidation. Your generosity will help finance the acquisition of missing acres in Auroville’s designated Master Plan land areaand protect its land.

The information below will guide you as well as inform you about tax exemption possibilities.

A. Donations by Indian donors via an Indian Bank

Under section 80G of the “Income Tax Act” tax exemptions are available for donations made within India via bank transfer or cheque. Donations can be:

  • 50% tax exempted (Rs. 500 or more)
  • 100% tax exempted (Rs.1000 or more)
1.Donating by bank transfer to the Auroville Unity Fund

- Indian donors (above Rs. 1000/-) are eligible for a 100% tax receipt by sending a message requesting it along with your PAN number to:

- Indian donors (between Rs. 500/- and Rs. 1000/-) are eligible for a 50% tax receipt by sending a message requesting it along with your PAN number to:

2. Donating by cheque payable to the “Auroville Unity Fund”

Please include a message requesting your tax receipt along with your PAN Number to:

3. Online donating by credit or debit card via the donate.auroville portal

Please visit https://donage.auroville.org and select the option:

“Land Purchase – Master Plan Priority Plots– Acres for Auroville”

Donation receipts and exemption receipts can be issued for donations via this portal.

4. Indian donors visiting Auroville

If you wish to make a donation to Acres for Auroville, you can also do so in cash or by debit card transfer at Auroville’s Financial Services (Town Hall, ground floor), where the receipt for the tax exemption will be issued.

3. Donations made via a center of ‘Auroville International’

Certain centers can issue tax exemption receipts for resident taxpayers for donations made to Acres for Auroville (see below). Please send your donation to the AVI centre of the country where you are a taxpayer, specifying ‘Donation for Acres for Auroville’ & request your tax receipt.
